  • JEE Advanced 2023 results will publish the cut off details and the scores secured by the applicants in the official website www.jeeadv.ac.in.
  • IIT incharge of the JEE Advanced 2023 exam will publish 2 types of cutoff - Qualifying and Admission cutoff for JEE Advanced qualified candidates.

What are the 2 types of Cutoff for the JEE Advanced 2023 exam?

  • Candidates who appeared for the JEE Advanced exam should be aware that 2 types of cutoff are going to be declared.
  • Two types of Cut off are - Qualifying cut off and Admission cutoff
  • Qualifying cut off - This will be the minimum marks required by the candidates to be included in the rank list for progressing to 2023 JoSAA Counseling.

Admission cutoff- This will be released as Opening and closing ranks for each course at IITs for each category. The opening rank is the rank at which the institute begins admission, while the closing rank is the rank after which the institute does not accept the admission of the candidate.

JEE Advanced 2023 Cutoff

  • Candidates who have appeared for both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of JEE Advanced 2023 will be considered for the inclusion in the rank list.
  • Candidates should score the declared  minimum marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also should have scored the aggregate marks to be included in the rank list.
  • Aggregate marks is the total of the marks scored in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of the JEE Advanced 2023 exam. 
  • If there is a tie between two students on the aggregate marks then the following tie-breaking rules will apply to assign the rank.
    • Rule 1- Candidates with higher positive marks will be assigned higher rank.
    • Rule 2- If tie still exists, then students who have secured higher marks in Maths will be awarded the higher rank.
    • Rule 3- If tie still exists, candidate with higher score in Physics will be given higher rank
    • Rule 4- If tie still exists then they will be assigned the same ranks.
