JEE Advanced exam 2023

  • The Joint Entrance Examination -Advanced (JEE Advanced) was formerly known as the Indian Institute of Technology-Joint 
  • Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE). 
  • JEE Advanced exam is a national-level examination held annually to admit students to the Indian institute of technology's bachelor's program. 
  • Other than IITs across the country, other universities that use the JEE Advanced exam score as a basis for admission are Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Indian Institute of Space Technology (IIST), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISERs), Marine Engineering and Research Institute, Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy ( IIPE). 
  • The top 2,50,000 students who have qualified JEE Main 2023 exam are eligible to appear in the JEE Advanced 2023 exam.

  • JEE Advanced exam will usually be conducted by one of the seven zonal IITs that include

JEE Advanced exam structure

  • Candidates should know the pattern of the question paper, time duration, marking scheme, and syllabus for JEE Advanced examination. Here are some of the pointers to be noted in brief.
    • Mode of examination - JEE Advanced 2023 will be conducted online, and it will be a computer-based test.
    • The number of papers to attend- Candidates have to attend 2 papers ( 3 hours each- total 6 hours ), and it is mandatory to attend and qualify for both papers.
    • Duration- For paper 1 - the exam will be conducted for 3 hours, and for Paper 2, it will be conducted for 3 hours, so a total of 6 hours.
    • The JEE Advanced exam will be conducted in 2 languages- English and Hindi.
    • Marking scheme- Each year, the conducting body changes and 1 among the 7 IITs will be conducting the JEE Advanced exam; the details of the marking scheme will be available to the students only at the time of the examination.
    • Sections in the question paper - 3 sections in total- Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

JEE Advanced 2023 Eligibility

  • Candidates appearing for JEE Advanced are supposed to fulfill the below-mentioned criteria in order to be eligible to appear in the exam.
    • Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 students, including all the categories in the JEE Main 2023 exam.
    • Age limit - Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1998. A 5 year relaxation period is given to those belonging to SC and ST categories; these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1993.
    • The number of attempts for appearing in JEE Advanced exam - Candidates can attempt JEE Advanced a maximum of 2 times in 2 consecutive years.
    • Appearance in class 12 examination - Candidates should have appeared in the Class XII examination in 2022 or 2023 and should have attended the following 3 subjects-Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, in their board examinations.
    • Previous admissions at IIT- Candidates should not have been admitted previously to any degree program at IITs, and also, those whose admissions to the IITs have been canceled in the past are not eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2023 examination.

AAT Architecture Aptitude test 2023

  • Candidates wishing to pursue a degree in architecture should qualify the AAT- Architecture Aptitude test.
  • Candidates should have first cleared the JEE Advanced 2023 exam to appear in AAT 2023.
  • AAT will be conducted in offline mode and candidates have to register for the exam in the JEE Advanced 2023 online portal. No separate admit card is required, candidates can use the JEE Advanced 2023 exam admit card for appearing in the AAT 2023 exam.
  • The exam will be conducted in English language and the cut off and results will be declared in the JEE Advanced 2023 online portal.
  • Duration of the test will be 3 hours and it is 1 paper and candidates will be required to bring their own drawing and coloring aids.
  • No separate ranking will be given in the final result of AAT, those who secure marks above the declared cut-off will be announced as qualified candidates.

  • PwD candidates appearing for JEE Advanced 2023 exam can avail the service of a scribe (amanuensis).
  • Candidates need to make a request during the registration process of JEE Advanced 2023 exam.
  • Scribe/ Amanuensis helps the candidates to read the questions and keying in the answers as per the candidate’s direction. Candidates should know that the scribe will neither explain the question in detail NOR suggest a possible solution to the question asked in the JEE Advanced exam.
