The Joint Entrance Examination -JEE Main exam is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering degree programs at IITs, NITs, GFTIs and IIITs. JEE Main exam is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced conducted for admissions to IITs. JEE main exam is conducted as 3 papers - Paper 1 for admissions to B.E/B.Tech degree programs, Paper 2A for admissions to Architecture degree program, Paper 2B for admissions to Planning courses

Yes, JEE Main exam is a multiple choice based test. Paper 1 comprises 3 subjects -Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each subject has 20 Multiple choice questions and 10 numerical questions out of which 5 needs to be attempted. 

JEE Main exam paper 1 is for a total 300 marks. Paper 2A and Paper 2B is for a total of 400 marks

Students can attempt JEE main 2023 two times as the exam is expected to be conducted twice.

Calculators are not allowed to be taken for the JEE Main exam. 

JEE main will be conducted in online mode only -Computer Based test mode. There is no option to appear in offline mode.

NTA will release the answer key after analyzing the challenges and this will be released on the official website. 

The National Testing Agency is expected to conduct the JEE main 2023 exam in 2 sessions just like 2021. 

NTA will release the exam dates for JEE main 2023 in its official website soon. 

This criteria was removed temporarily due to COVID 19 and if everything goes well then there is a chance of restoring the 75% eligibility criteria for students to appear in JEE main exam

The eligibility criteria of securing 75% in class 12  to appear in JEE Main exam was relaxed due to COVID-19, but for JEE main 2023 , NTA has not yet released the eligibility criteria conditions.

State of eligibility for this candidate will be Uttar Pradesh as NTA rules suggest that the state from which the candidate has passed class 12 will be taken into consideration.

Completion of registration form and Uploading the necessary documents and Payment of the fee are the steps involved.

Candidates must have cleared one of the qualifying examinations mentioned by NTA. Check out the qualifying exam list here. Those who have passed the Class12 or the qualifying examination in 2021, 2022 or those who are appearing in 2023 are eligible for appearing in the JEE Main exam.Candidates who have written the qualifying exams in 2021 or before are not eligible to appear in the JEE Main exam.There is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Main examination.Also its not compulsory that the candidates should have scored 75% in Class 12 to appear in the JEE Main examination.

If the payment fails then the process is not completed and the candidate will not be able to download the Acknowledgement page. In this case the candidate will be required to pay the fee again through online mode and then download the acknowledgement page. The amount due to the failed transaction will be refunded back to the student after the declaration of the result of JEE Main 2023 exam .

For appearing in the JEE (Main) - 2023, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class 12/equivalent examination in 2021, 2022, or appearing in 2023 irrespective of their age can appear in JEE (Main) - 2023 examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the Institute(s) in which they are desirous of taking admission.

The examination fee for JEE main 2023 can be paid through any Debit/Credit/UPI Card using SBI/Canara/ HDFC/ ICICI/Paytm on-line gateway payment facility/Net Banking.

NTA will open JEE main 2023 application form correction window which can be utilised by candidate if they made any error while filling out the online form . Candidates will login using their credentials and make the necessary changes and also pay any additional fee if mentioned using online payment methods. So it is advised to fill the form without any errors

There are chances that NTA might not provide any opportunity for candidates to make corrections but if they do so for JEE Main 2023 exam, NTA will allow the corrections to be made in online mode only.

The photo should be coloured or black/white with 80% face (without face mask) visible including ears against a white background.

  • The Question paper has been divided into 2 sections. There will be 90 questions in Paper 1 and candidates will be required to answer 75 questions only. There will be no negative marking for 15 optional questions. Paper wise details are as follows :
  • Paper 1- Each subject will have 2 sections. Section A will be of Multiple choice questions(MCQs) and Section B will contain Questions whose answers are to be filled in as a numerical value. In section B, candidates will have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10.

Paper 2A and 2B- Part 1 will have 2 sections. Section A will be Multiple choice questions and Section B will contain questions whose answers are to be filled in as numerical value.

Step 4- Candidates will be seeing the instructions on how to attempt the mock test. Read through the instructions carefully and click proceed to begin the test. 

NTA JEE Main 2023 can  be attempted in 13 different languages, including English, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Punjabi, Telugu, Tamil, Odia, and Urdu

  • Correct answer = +4 marks
  • Incorrect answer= -1 marks
  • Unanswered =0 marks

  • In JEE main Paper 1 a total 90 questions will be given and candidates will have to attempt 75 questions . 
  • In JEE Main paper 2A, a  total of 82 questions will be given and candidates will have to attempt 77 questions.
  • In JEE Main Paper 2B , a total of 105 questions will be given out of which candidates will have to answer 100.

Candidates need to download the answer key and mark the question ID they are going to challenge and also be prepared to submit the correct answer. Then visit the official website and click on the challenge answer key and proceed with the steps required and pay the processing fee. The processing fee for challenging the answer key is INR 200 per question and the payment can be done using Credit card, Debit card, Net banking, UPI. Candidates should remember that this processing fee is non refundable but if NTA accepts the answer uploaded by the candidate then this fee will be refunded.

Qualifying cut off allows candidates to be eligible for attempting the JEE Advanced exam. It also determines whether a candidate has qualified the JEE Main exam and allows them to participate in the JOSAA Counseling.Admission cut off will primarily be the marks that will be considered for admissions into various universities for pursuing an academic degree.

The weightage of Integral calculus in Maths section based on JEE Main 2022 exam is 10.00%

Mathematics syllabus is common for JEE Main paper 1 and Paper 2.

NTA has not yet released the official syllabus for JEE Main 2023. It is usually released in the JEE main official website where students can view or download the pdf or they can also check out our page to view the JEE main 2023 official syllabus.

Generally it is a 40:60 ratio , where 40% is for class 11 and 60% is for class 12. But it is also not a sure thing and there might be changes in the JEE main 2023 exam .

JoSAA regulates the seat allotment for academic programs in IITs, NITs, IIITs and GFTIs.CSAB fills up the vacant seats after JoSAA Counseling and manages seat allotment in NITs,IIITs and GFTIs but not in IITs.

  • Candidates for IIT academic and preparatory programmes should have passed the JEE Advanced exam. 
  • Candidates must have secured a  rank in the JEE Main exam to gain admission to NITs, IIEST, IIITs, and other GFTIs, and they must have passed the +2 exam with Physics, Math, and Chemistry, Biology, and Biotechnology as optional courses. 
  • Applicants from the general category must have received an overall score of at least 75% to be eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, while candidates from the reserved category must have received an overall score of 65%. 
  • Candidates must also have met the JEE Main cutoff requirements.
  • In addition, if the candidate ranks in the top 20% of their separate boards, they will be considered for admission.

The total number of registered applicants for JEE main 2022 exam was 1627840 and the total number of appeared applicants for JEE main 2022 were 1384692.

The minimum cutoff for General category students in 2022 was 62.1114141

The total number of seats allotted to Open category students in JoSAA 2022 was 22647.

NTA will release the cut off details after the completion of JEE Main 2023 exam in its official website.

The cut off for General category in 2022 JEE Main exam was 88.4121383.

Admissions to IIT,NIT will definitely consider a candidates class 12 exam score. 

No, Questions won't be repeated in the JEE main exam but the basic concept of the question will be repeated in some modified versions.
