Admission has been done for UG courses through the Joint Entrance Examination Advanced and this JEE Advanced is conducted by different zonal IITs on a rotational basis every year in a computer-based mode consisting of two papers (Paper 1 and Paper 2). The candidate needs to attend both papers to enter the merit list, either in English or Hindi, and the time duration for each paper is three hours (four hours for PwD candidates). Both papers have questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and these question papers comprise MCQs with a single option, a single correct option, and a numerical value answer (0-9). A candidate who cleared JEE Main but doesn’t have a minimum cut-off mark can appear for the JEE Advanced exam.
A cut-off mark is a minimum required or scaled mark to enroll in the institution or enter into counseling for the institution where the students need to. However, the range of the cut-off mark varies according to the departments and courses that the student chooses. Generally, NTA conducts JEE Advanced for admission to IITs and ISM comprises Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in two papers, JEE Advanced Paper 1 and Paper 2, and the final cut-off mark is the mean value of both Paper 1 and Paper 2. Moreover, the cut-off mark differs every year according to the trend in the previous year, seat availability, and the difficulty level of the entrance exam in the current year.
Not possible. Every IIT college is looking for candidates who cleared JEE Advanced entrance examination.
For admission into all types of professional courses, one needs to get it done with the entrance examination.
Though the JEE Advanced Marks vs Rank range varies every year, Candidates with greater positive scale scores will be given a higher rank. To know more about the scores, candidates need to check out the official website of JEE Advanced 2022.
Cutoff marks are calculated by converting the Maths marks to 100, Chemistry marks to 50, Physics marks to 50 and then adding them up. The cutoff total marks will be a maximum of 200.
If you are a general category student then you have to score at least 240 marks in order to get any branch in IIT Bombay. For EWS students, it will be 220, For OBC students, it is 200 and for sc and st it is 150.
In JEE Advanced exam, the total marks in subjects are calculated by the addition of marks on paper 1 and paper 2. Yes, the total marks are the sum of paper 1 and paper 2. You have to get 10% of the total in each subject.
The JEE Main full form is Joint Entrance Exam Main (JEE Main). It is a national-level computer-based test conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). JEE Main 2022 will be held in June and July every year.
You need at least 2.5 - 4.5 thousand ranks to get into the least ranked IITs.
The exam is conducted by selected IITs on a rotational basis to offer admission to 23 IITs. Candidates who qualify for the JEE Main and are in the top ranks can only appear for JEE Advanced. There is nothing specific for the courses with the JEE Advanced entrance exam.
