Initially having a capacity of 180 students, the Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore now houses nearly 7482 students and has a strength of around 397 faculty members. There are a total of 18 academic departments in the institution. The institute believes in executing the vision of its founders. Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences, Coimbatore, is involved in human problem research and development in the fields of food, water, energy, and healthcare. The institute is popularly known as KITS (Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences). 

Karunya University offers courses in Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral programs. Karunya Institute of Technology and Sciences in Coimbatore offers graduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, arts and sciences, and business. The institute also offers programmes in the fields of agriculture and management. The institute conducts its own entrance examination, the Karunya Entrance Examination (KEE) for BTech and BSc admissions and the Karunya Management Aptitude Test (KMAT) for MBA admissions.  

The institute has been ranked in 107th position with a NIRF score of about 39.43, and the college was established in the year 1986 as the campus spans over 700 acres of land space wherein the overall fee structure for the entire course program corresponds to INR 610500.
