The National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela or NITRKL or NITR), formerly Regional Engineering College Rourkela, is a publicly funded institute of higher learning for engineering, science, and technology located in the steel city of Rourkela, Odisha, India. 

It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology in India and has been recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the National Institutes of Technology Act, 2007. 

It is ranked 15th in the NIRF Rankings 2020 of Indian engineering universities, which were established in the year 2002, with a land area of about 645 acres.

The institution carries 1064 UG engineering aspirants, which has been backed up by 20 students in the dual degree course program. Moreover, 725 PG seats have been filled, followed by 50 PG integrated seats.

The opening rank for the NIT Rourkela BTech program is 1874 in the JEE Main exam. The closing rank for admission is 4000. 

GATE CCMT 2022 Round 3 results for MTech admissions were announced on the official webpage. During NIT Rourkela Placements 2022, students received 1274 job offers. The highest salary stood at INR 46.08 LPA.
