The NIT Durgapur Admission Process

The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral courses. 

NIT Durgapur has departments that range from engineering to humanities, namely: the department of biotechnology, which includes Chemical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering. 

For Science, NIT Durgapur admissions are offered in Biotechnology, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics. 

The other major departments of NIT Durgapur include Earth and Environmental Studies and Computer Applications. 

NIT Durgapur also has major departments, namely: Management Studies, Humanities, and Social Sciences. 

The courses for both postgraduate and undergraduate are made available in the NIT Durgapur course curriculum. 

NIT Durgapur B.Tech Admissions:

The 4-year Bachelor of Technology programme in NIT Durgapur admissions course plan offers a variety of specialisations in the areas of computer science, electrical engineering, civil engineering, biotechnology, electronics, and communication engineering, etc. 

The dual degree programme of B.Tech-M.Tech is offered as a 5-year programme with the same eligibility requirements.

NIT Durgapur M.Tech Admissions

The Master of Technology (M.Tech) programme in NIT Durgapur admissions is offered as a two-year programme in advanced engineering specialisations such as chemical engineering, fluid mechanics, heat transfer and operations research, biotechnology, entrepreneurship, IT, machine design, power systems, telecommunications, thermal engineering etc.

NIT Durgapur Admissions for Ph.D 

The doctoral programme, or Ph.D in NIT Durgapur admissions, is offered in areas pertaining to the lower levels of study at Bachelor’s and Master’s level in disciplines such as sciences, humanities, engineering, management etc.

The NIT Durgapur Institute holds about 633 filled UG seats, from which around 630 have graduated and of which 429 have been placed in various private and public sectors with diversified profiles around the nation or even overseas. 

The final UG salary for the year 2021 was INR 680000, with most students receiving a good pay scale based on their skills and interview performance.
