NIT Karnataka Admissions

NIT Surathkal holds about 834 UG students, of whom 782 have graduated and out of whom 642 have been placed in diversified streams and various departmental courses. The average UG salary in 2021 stood at 10 LPA.

 The UG graduation rate for 2022 stood at 93.76%, and the data reports for the years 2021 and 2020 correspond to 94.97% and 95.39%, respectively, in due regard to the total enrollment process.

 When it comes to PG admissions, 93.53% of them were admitted in the current year (2022), and further, the record stats show that 93.49% were admitted in the year 2021, and last, the institution registered an admission rate of 91.11%, which is gradually decreasing.

 Last and final, the Ph.D. admissions account for 934 admissions, of which 120 of them have been placed in various multinational organizations wide across the global horizon.

 B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is the flagship course of NIT Surathkal. Admissions to the same are done based on JEE Main scores followed by JoSAA Counselling. The JEE Main cutoff for CSE at NITK ranges from 578–1002 for the general category. 

 NIT Surathkal Admission 2022 is open for UG and PG programs. For BTech courses, JEE Main 2022 Phase 1 results have been announced in the recent past. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their status on jeemain.nta.nic using their application number and password. The opening rank for the NIT Surathkal BTech program is 164 in the CSE branch. The closing rank for the same is 2734. For MTech admissions, the CCMT 2022 Round 3 results were announced just before the B. Tech admissions. 

 NIT Surathkal offers a four-year B.Tech program in nine specializations. Out of 9 specialisations offered, the most popular stream at the institute is Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), with a cutoff ranging from 34 to 826 in the JoSAA Counselling. The cutoff marks for all rounds of JoSAA are out.

 For the B.Tech admissions at NIT Surathkal, candidates are required to appear for the JEE Main examination and participate in the JoSAA counselling for the final seat allotments. NIT Surathkal charges a fee of INR 1.51 lakh per year for its B.Tech program.  

The NIT Surathkal admission process involves other national level examinations too, such as GATE, IIT JAM, CAT, and NIMCET for the programs such as M.Tech, M.Sc, MBA, and MCA, respectively, in due regard to the admission process.

NIT Surathkal B.Tech Admission 2022

As discussed earlier, NIT Surathkal offers B.Tech programs in nine specializations, each of them segregated into eight semesters. There is a provision for direct admission to B. Tech programs under DASA for students who have completed their last qualifying exam abroad.

 NIT Surathkal M.Tech Admission 2022

 The institute offers M.Tech in 10 specialisations and an M.Tech (Research) program for its students. The fees for the first year are INR 1 lakh, including the hostel accommodation and tuition fees. Postgraduate students are required to complete coursework in addition to a thesis or dissertation that entails independent research under the guidance of the faculties.

Postgraduate and doctoral Ph.D. students are also involved as teaching assistants for undergraduate courses. Research in the institute is mainly sponsored by central and state government agencies, with grants for the academic year reaching INR 10 crore.
