The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Silchar facilities on campus include an administration area, academic buildings, separate hostels for boys and girls, staff quarters, a guest house, a library, a post office, and students’ recreation and sports amenities.
NIT Silchar has a large playground for playing cricket, hockey, football, and other games. Other NIT Silchar facilities include a health centre with qualified medical officers and a fully computerised core banking like the State Bank of India branch.
There are also general provision stores, fax centres, DTP centres, PCOs, and bookshop facilities for students, faculty, and staff members of the institute.

The central library of NIT Silchar was established in 1977. It is part of the LTT building with a 97,000 document collection of both printed and non-printed materials.
The library has state-of-the-art technological applications and holds knowledge resources related to Science, Technology, Management, Humanities, Social Science and other related subjects.
The institute has eight boys' hostels. During the year under review, the construction of 1000-bedded Boys' Hostel No. 9, 300-bedded PG Boys' Hostel, and 100-bedded Married Scholar's Hostel has been taken up.
All the hostels have their own individual Mess Management Committee to look after the food requirements for their borders. In addition to it, the institute has three girls' hostels.
NIT Silchar has a large playground where students can play football, hockey, cricket, and other games.
The institute also has a lawn tennis court and a hard court for volleyball, basketball, and badminton.
Each department in NIT Silchar consists of multiple laboratories for students to get thorough practical knowledge of their subject and undertake research projects.
The laboratories are fully furnished with all the modern conveniences like modern apparatus, tools, devices, and machines that will facilitate the students in conducting experiments.
Some of the other facilities include gym facilities, cafetaria, auditorium, medical/hospital facilities, IT infrastructure, convenience store, alumni associations, guest rooms, and bank facilities.
