Vignan's Foundation for Science, Technology, and Research (VFSTR) was recognized as a private university in 2009, but it had been operating as part of Vignan Engineering College since 1999 at Vadlamudi near Guntur, Andhra Pradesh in a 43 acres area campus by the initiative of Dr. Lavu Rathaiah in a green, serene atmosphere to bridge the gap between industries needs and engineers who are responsible for the nation's development despite all odds. It aspires to be a center of excellence in engineering and science and technology via innovative research and practice, as well as to produce professionals with international standards, strong psychological character, and social responsibility. It is a UGC-accredited deemed university.
